Dumplings at New Shanghai in Brisbane

Today I took Miss12, Miss16 and Miss18 for a day of shopping in the Brisbane CBD. For lunch Miss12 suggested New Shanghai which was also recommended by an old school friend through Facebook. Since my last post about Yum Cha on New year’s Eve I’ve been told the barking ‘manager’ at Aspley Oriental isn’t being rude but efficient and that he is very good with customers and staff.

I’ve been told the New Shanghai is fairly popular and we should get there early because long queues form quickly.

We arrived at 1130 AEST and there was already a queue. We were asked if we were willing to share a table. I said yes and so we were joined by a couple of ladies out on a lunch date. They pretty much kept to themselves while we ate.

The girls were ravenous and so we ordered accordingly.

I really enjoyed myself. The girls loved it. I’d definitely eat here again. I’d highly recommend this for anyone visiting Brisbane.

  1. Looks really good! I wish we had a place here for dim sum. We used to go every week when we lived in the bay area. That calamari looks lovely…so do the potstickers…well, it all looks good. Next time you go, eat some for me please!

    • I hope you find one. My maternal grandparents would make them and many other yummy things for me when I was very young. Sadly they died at relatively young ages and I could never learn their skills. Mum doesn’t have the knowledge for all the foods they cooked, only some.

Please tell me what you think
