Mmm…I’ve just finished Christmas eating. I feel so content. I recently enjoyed first Christmas in Brisbane with my daughters and parents and just spent second Christmas with Bron.
For me Christmas began with work shut down on Tuesday (Christmas eve) at 1500 AEDT. Under the certified agreement, everyone works a few extra minutes every day so on Christmas eve we can leave early at 1500 AEDT and have days off between Christmas day and New Years day. It’s pretty good.
In the afternoon Bron and I enjoyed some cheese and biscuits.
Dinner quickly followed. The Alaskan king crab was combined with Bron’s homemade aioli on fresh bread.
The crab was so good. I just love crab sandwiches.
Bron persuaded me that Love Actually is a Christmas movie. I would have enjoyed it more if some of the scenes were on the bridge and in the engineering section of the USS Enterprise and if some of the characters were Vulcans and women from the Orion Syndicate.
For Christmas morning we had a poached egg on toast.
Look what I got for Christmas 🙂
Lunch was an extravaganza of food.
For entrée we had fig and goat cheese tarts.
For the main course we had roast duck, ham, roast potatoes, roast sweet potato, Brussels sprouts with chestnuts and pancetta, stuffing and gravy. You can see I carved the duck and dissected for myself the uropygium, neck and a maryland. Bron slaved for hours calculating times and scheduling tasks to get this perfect.
For dessert we enjoyed a Christmas pudding and Bron made custard and ice cream.
While we were pretty full, we had a leftover sandwich and more pudding for evening dessert.
I hope you had a happy and food filled Christmas celebration today. Eat yummy 😉
